Terrace RCMP were notified of a helicopter crash about 50 kilometres northwest of Terrace at about 4 PM yesterday (Monday).
According to police, three helicopters were operating a heliskiing trip in the mountains when communication was lost with one of the aircraft.
Seven people were on board the helicopter that went down and three passed away.
The other four passengers were taken to hospital with severe injuries.
The BC Coroners Service, Transport Safety Board (TSB), Work Safe BC and the RCMP continue to investigate.
This is the second fatal helicopter incident this month in the province.
On January 6th, a helicopter crashed in Glacier National Park near Revelstoke, killing the pilot, who was the only person on board.
